Ljupčo Todorovski is a Full Professor of Computational Mathematics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics (FMF), University of Ljubljana, and a scientific councilor at the Department of Knowledge Technologies at the Jožef Stefan Institute. At FMF, he serves as the Head of the Department of Mathematics and the Vice Dean of studies.
His research focuses on artificial intelligence and machine learning. He develops algorithms that learn both from data and from domain-specific prior knowledge. Such algorithms ensure that the resulting models are interpretable and transparent, allowing for their proper evaluation in the context of existing knowledge. This makes them particularly useful for discovering scientific laws, where integrating new models within the framework of established knowledge is essential. His applied research is often conducted in interdisciplinary teams collaborating with scientists from other fields.
