Rok Žitko is a research councillor at JSI and full professor at UL FMF. He is leading the programme group “Physics of quantum technologies” (P1-0416) and is involved in many national initiatives in the field of quantum science and technology.
His research focuses on numerical methods for studying many-particle quantum systems, in particular quantum impurity problems, that he applies to study systems of coupled quantum dots and superconducting islands as well as other superconducting circuits with hybrid Josephson junctions, including Andreev spin qubits. He also has an interest in cold-atom systems, fast electronics for quantum system control and readout, randomness generation and quantum communications. He develops open-source codes for scientific computing. He often collaborates with experimental groups in Slovenia in abroad.
