Tomaž Mertelj is a Scientific Advisor at JSI and an Assistant Professor at FMF UL.
His main research interest lies in time-resolved optical spectroscopy of low-temperature charge and spin ordered states in solid-state matter, including phenomena such as superconductivity, charge and spin density waves, and various magnetic orders. The focus of his investigations is to gain insights into the driving mechanisms of these ordered states by observing their real-time dynamics, searching for novel metastable ordered states under strong excitations, and manipulating these states with light.
